I haven’t posted in months. My bad. We have had lots going on since we returned from Disney in August. I will get all of that in my next post.

With my snazzy new BLOG make over my plan is to start posting more regularly.

First and foremost I want to wish any of my friends who take the time to read this post a very Happy New Year. I wish you nothing but the best for 2012.

We had a fabulous Christmas season and the New Year brought us waiting for China officially 5-years. When we started our paperwork some 7-years ago we wouldn’t have dreamed we would wait so long. We have ups and downs around the subject but when push comes to shove we are in for the long, long, haul.

I don’t make new year resolutions. But, for many years I have started the year with a word. I try to improve myself every year with the word in mind especially around my personal relationships and also my own needs. I meditate daily and part of my meditation includes my word. I advise all of the people I work with to do the same with hopes that it will help their lives as much as it does mine. Each year I order a bracelet with my word and I wear it all year long as a reminder.

I had two words in mind this year! One was humility and the other was patience. With the 5-year anniversary I thought I would celebrate with PATIENCE!

So for the 2012 I am hoping to become more patient with the  people I love the most, with myself and the world around me. All of  these deserve nothing less than my very best.

I really need to start posting again but I think I am suffering from writers block! Either that or my life is just darn boring.

Today is Canada Day and we just love celebrating. Strawberry picking and strawberry short cake to follow is on our agenda today! I think it is a perfect way to celebrate our country. The strawberries are red and the fresh whip cream is white!

Have the best day celebrating to all my Canadian friends.

And, to my US pals, Happy 4th! I just love how the American people celebrate their country!

May 11th is my oldest girls birthday. She was born on Mother’s Day and she truly a gift that just keeps on giving.

Dawn is ray of sunshine. She is beautiful. She is intelligent. She is a wonderful Mother. She is a loving and supportive wife, who has her husband at her beckon call. She is school teacher. She studies and performs opera. She is a photographer. She is a Christian. Dawn is named after my mother. And, she is a wonderful daughter who never/ever ceases to amaze me.

Dawn and I have had a struggles through the years. The teenage years where not pretty. The teenage years took me by surprise. It all happened very fast. But, I am here to tell you I wouldn’t trade one of the struggles as Dawn and I have arrived as Mother and Daughter! We have a honest, caring, considerate, relationship and we are both proud of that as we worked darn hard to have it.

I ran across this picture of she and I when going through my Mother’s things last year. I think she was just over a year old and it was taken at my Mom and Dad’s place. I have it framed in my office and thought I would share it with you.

Bill and I are heading out for two weeks for some much needed R & R!
